Hello, I have just installed the pixelpipe and already seem to be having trouble. See when I got the g1 I was stoked I could watch youtube videos, while I had fun with that I wanted to mess around with my camera and upload pictures I took on an image host site, however only to find the upload form said it was disabled, then I found the pixelpipe application to which it gave me the option to have my photos uploaded to my choice of image host. So I first chose photobucket but it didn’t even get passed the “will you allow pixelpipe to run through photobucket” after I clicked yes. So I tried imageshack.us and I’m having problems there as well.

Did I just loose all hope for this application?

It’s really easy to make a mistake entering your account details when on a mobile device. You should try doing the setup from a desktop web browser http://pixelpipe.com. You can use you existing user name and password and setup your services with ease.

I can not add mobleme to my pixelpipe application (Android, HTC Hero) as it does not recognize the credentials, neither through desktop or mobile application, but user name and pw are correct!?

      • pixelbrett // August 15, 2009 at 6:56 am

Does your username or password contain any special characters or spaces? We’ve seen issues with mobileme and non-standard passwords in the past.

Pixelpipe on my 3G iPhone crashes on startup. I get a white screen with a “Continue” button then it closes. Any ideas?

    • pixelbrett // January 27, 2009 at 9:32 pm | Reply

The problem was related to a conflict with images created by a 3rd party application and has been fixed now in our 1.3 update. You can download the update now and for free directly from the Apple App Store

Pixelpipe for Android auto-restarts when it’s terminated/killed. It also doesn’t load on startup, so it doesn’t seem to need to stay in memory. A future version with the option to close the program would be nice. In the mean time, is there a way to keep Pixelpipe from restarting when it is manually shut down?

    • pixelbrett // February 18, 2009 at 11:45 am | Reply

We don’t run anything processes in the background however the Android OS allows you to put applications in the background. If you’d like to close Pixelpipe just click the return button (arrow to the left), if you’d like to put Pixelpipe into the background simply click the home button (icon of a house). Also pleas make sure you’re running the latest build by selecting My Downloads in the Android Market.

  • Ben // February 18, 2009 at 3:40 pm | Reply

Thanks for the quick response! Here’s a screenshot of the service restarting. I do exit programs with the back button, multitask with home. Background uploading is nice :) It looks like something called “ImageUploader” is staying on, but i have no images uploading.

Microsoft discontinued support for Live Gallery uploads so we had to remove the service. We’ll get them back up as soon as Microsoft opens up the API again.

Your blog entry here (http://blog.pixelpipe.com/2009/01/08/over-60-supported-destinations-for-your-media/) claims that you support Windows Live, but when I installed the app on my iPhone, it’s nowhere to be found. What gives?

  • Dougal // March 1, 2009 at 6:29 pm | Reply

Did I miss the ‘help’ page?

I feel a bit confused – the service sounds wonderfull, but I’m daunted by trying to figure it all out for myself. Seriously, is there really no guide/manual/introduction? Or did I just miss it somewhere along the line?

    • pixelbrett // March 6, 2009 at 4:16 pm | Reply

Once you sign-up we pretty much walk you through the configuration. Add a few destinations, pick a client application(s) and you’re done. Here’s a link to a slightly outdated Demo Girl screencast that goes over some of the specifics http://is.gd/2Im5

A quick question. Is it possible to post an update, photos or videos to a Facebook page (not profile) using Pixelpipe? I can’t find a way of doing it since I access my pages whilst already logged into Facebook using my profile login details. So there’s no unique login details to use.

I can’t seem to setup pixelpipe with my Share Online on my N95 8gb. Every time I tried to go to pixelpipe.com/nokia I get the same page. It’s exactly the same page as I would if I use my desktop. It doesn’t automatically download the script for share online and there’s no link to download anything. What can i do?

  • Greg // May 2, 2009 at 10:20 pm | Reply

Great idea and works pretty well. I just discovered it looking for a way to post photos from my iPhone. Flawless with WordPress.

However with Gallery2, the Title and Name of the Gallery must be the same or Pixelpipe creates a new gallery. I’d like to be able to use the Name with Pixelpipe. I’d prefer to keep the name short and without spaces. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but I think this behavior is consistent.

    • pixelbrett // May 2, 2009 at 11:29 pm | Reply

You can set the default album for upload after logging in under ‘My Pipes’. Just select your Gallery pipe and then you can specify the album for upload.

  • Greg // May 3, 2009 at 7:56 am | Reply

    pixelbrett

I have set the default album (I said Gallery instead of album in my post), but if the the Name and Title of the album aren’t the same Pixelpipe creates a new album. I’ve tried using both the Name and Title in Pixelpipe and in both cases Pixelpipe creates a new album unless the Name and Title are the same.

Hello, I had a couple of questions. I am using pixel pipe on in iPhone with firmware 2.1. Initially it worked flawlessly both for uploading photos as well as video via the PPV video enabler available through cydia. For some reason I can no longer access new video that I shoot with cycorder within the pixel pipe app (I still have PPV video enabler installed). Also, the pixel pipe app no longer uploads. When I attempt to upload I get the following message: “upload error: operation could not be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error 401.)

Please help! Thank you very much, I love your app!

    • pixelbrett // May 31, 2009 at 11:39 am | Reply

We don’t officially support video uploads however are looking into why it stopped working. We had to make some changes to the way we accessed files for compatibility with iPhone 3.0 OS and it looks like something broke video support. Keep an eye out for a 1.4.1 update coming soon.

You can fix the NSURL error by resetting authentication with Pixelpipe on your iPhone. You can find the setting under iPhone/Settings/Pixelpipe/Reset on next launch.

The error could be related to a firewall since we have to communicate back to the plug-in after you authenticate. Please try disabling your firewall, re-authenticate and then re-enable you firewall. Let us know if this continues to be an issue and we’ll have a closer look

    T-Mobile G1 with CupCake
    Question:
Could you add a feature to make PixelPipe ignore user-given folders?
I have some folders with App Icons, and they are shown on PixelPipe. That may be due to apps 2 sd mod, but anyway there are close to 100 of them. I need an option to ignore some folders, if you are accessing the gallery service/app than ignore this.

    • pixelbrett // June 30, 2009 at 11:09 am | Reply

I doesn’t work like that on Android, we connect with an internal DB that tells us what images are available so don’t monitor directories. We’re going to add a filter that should just show images however that should work around your issue for you. How large in kb are your icons?

Are you sending to Facebook by chance? Facebook scales all photos down to a maxsize of 1024×1024. There’s nothing we can do about it unfortunately.

If you’re not sending to FB and then what service? Several downscale images after upload.

Facebook requires you to accept extra permissions to allow us to post video on your behalf. You can add the video posting permission & others for Facebook on pixelpipe.com under My Pipes.

      • Zane // February 14, 2010 at 12:16 pm

The only settings you can apply via the My Pipes Facebook settings are
        Authorized to access Facebook account.
Authorized to publish posts or comments without prompting me for approval.

        Nothing for Video.

Under Facebook application settings you can only …
Access my data even when I’m not using the application
        Publish to streams

How do you approve publishing of videos?

All three services you mentioned can post to Twitter so you shouldn’t have any issues getting your media to be forwarded to Twitter. Just watch out for double Tweets from having multiple services all post to the same Twitter account.

I just purchased the 2.0 version of pixelpipe pro and can’t get the one click update to work. Is there a tutorial for getting this thing going? Is there a wiki or help file?

    • pixelbrett // January 20, 2010 at 3:38 pm | Reply

The one click upload option is set by default. As soon as you capture a photo a Pixelpipe dialog will pop up providing you with an option to upload. You can enable/disable this feature or enable fully automatic uploads under Settings from with-in Pixelpipe Pro. You can learn more and even watch a demo of the feature in action at blog.pixelpipe.com.

    Application Name: Pixelpipe for facebook

    Platform: N900 Maemo 5

Question: Always I upload a photo, Pixelpipe creates a new album… I configured it to upload all into an album called “N900″ (so original). But it creates a new “N900″ album every time.

    What can I do?

    Like Martha above,
    iPhone 3GS
    iPhone version 3.1.2 (7D11)
    Uploading to Blogger

Initially when uploading, I get the following error:
    Operation could not be completed.
    (NSURLEErrorDomain error 302.)

I have already tried the previously mentioned solution:
You can fix the NSURL error by resetting authentication with Pixelpipe on your iPhone. You can find the setting under iPhone/Settings/Pixelpipe/Reset on next launch.

Now it says I have Authentication Error, and I’ve tried logging in several times, but it still wont work. I’ve reauthorized all my pipes on Pixelpipe through my PC and have signed in multiple times thought they still ask if I’m signed in.

And now, when i open pixel pipe I get “Please ensure you are signed in. If you did Sign in there may be a temporary Pixelpipe Error.

Help! It’s been a few weeks since I’ve gotten this error and havent been able to use since! :(

    • pixelbrett // January 24, 2010 at 11:34 pm | Reply

When you sign-in make sure you click on the sign-in button and not Continue otherwise you’ll get an authentication error. I just went through it and it’s a little confusing since the iPhone puts a style on the sign-in button which makes it look really faint. We’ll have a look and see what we can do to make the sign-in a bit more obvious.

Let us know how that works for you.

    Hi there,
Pixelpipe is crashing every application I attempt to set it up from on my N900 maemo device. I go to Settings -> Sharing Account -> New, Pixelpipe, Use existing account. Then the application dies with “Internal error. Application ‘Settings’ closed”.

Trying the setup from, say, the photos application results in the same error and the photos application closing.

This N900 has the current stable maemo OS updates on it.

    Android -G1

When I take a picture and upload it to facebook, it “holds” it in my picture file until I approve it on facebook, then posts. Is there any way to automate this? I can’t find a way to post through pixelpipe that doesn’t require me to log into facebook, too.

    • pixelbrett // January 31, 2010 at 3:48 pm | Reply

Facebook requires a special permission to post directly to your wall. You can set the permission under My Pipes after logging into pixelpipe.com or Edit pipes from the application Settings.

Trying to setup myspace with pixelpipe on android phone. (G1) when I do the 2nd step I end up getting a JSONerror. I think it’s a problem on the script side, nothing with my phone. Says it’s expecting a trailing } bracket somewhere..

Hi there, I’m using a N97, downloaded the ‘pixelpipe’ configuration file for Share Online. I start share online and see indeed the pixelpipe applic, but when I type in my existing userid/password in this application to connect share online – Pixelpipe I’m getting a wrong userid/password but when I log in direct by the Web it’s ok…

    Very annoying..

    Any suggestions ?

    Hi there again…

I keep getting errors, whatever I use as accountname, username and password…sigh.

What do I have to fill in where in the “Share Online” pixelpipe configuration ?

    1. What is the accountname (first field) ?
    2. What is the username (second field) ?
    3. Which password do I use (third field) ?

    thanks in advance,
    regards,

    Back again.,
still no answer on my last questions….:-(

As i’ve read in between, there more people who have the same problem…
If a mail to my pixelpipe account all goes wel.

If I use another applic (like OVI)in Share Online, I get authenticated, but when I use Pixelpipe within Share Online it keeps giving wrong userid/password although I type my email adress and the ’secret key’ as password….:-(

    Suggestions ?

    Continuing story….

As I noticed now, thanks for the clear manual !, one can download a ‘manual configuration file’ stated in the webpage m.pixelpipe.com/nokia when one tries to configure pixelpipe by phone….

The only thing is , this doens’t work either because if you ‘click’ this you get directed to the same page …so we’re in a loop here…sigh again..

    Life could be so simple…

  • Grovertjes // February 16, 2010 at 11:52 pm | Reply

And the story goes on…still haven’t a working application.

    Pixelpipe and N97 just don’t fit together I guess…. I just don’t getting authenticated, whatever solution I try…

This can’t be that hard since others have this combination working , where’s the problem ?

    Hey PixelBrett,

I initially bought PixelPipe Pro for the video upload feature so I could update my wordpress blog on the fly.

I have tried three times now to upload, and while they do upload, they appear only as white boxes. Sound plays, but there is no video.

I am sending them from my Droid using what I believe to be PPpro version 2.0.2. Any insight to this?

    • pixelbrett // March 7, 2010 at 4:18 pm | Reply

For WordPress your browser will need to have the Quicktime plug-in for playback. Try another browser or install the plug-in and you’ll be able to view your videos.

We don’t alter the resolution of media as it passes through Pixelpipe. My guess would be that the application you’re uploading with may be reducing the resolution. How are you uploading?

  • pixelbrett // May 31, 2009 at 11:39 am | Reply

We don’t officially support video uploads however are looking into why it stopped working. We had to make some changes to the way we accessed files for compatibility with iPhone 3.0 OS and it looks like something broke video support. Keep an eye out for a 1.4.1 update coming soon.

We don’t distribute our iPhoto plug-in any longer since it doesn’t work well with iPhoto 09. It does however work great with iPhoto 08 and is available at http://apps.pixelpipe.com/Pixelpipe-for-iPhoto.dmg

Are you still having this issue? If yes what version of Share Online are you running on your N79?

  • pixelbrett // September 22, 2009 at 2:28 pm | Reply

You’re looking to view your previous uploads on your Q? Could be a browser issue with the older versions of IE. We’ll have a look.

  • pixelbrett // October 2, 2009 at 1:51 pm | Reply

Sorry, not at this time however we’ll add this to our requested features list.

  • pixelbrett // October 17, 2009 at 6:56 pm | Reply

We can’t reproduce this issue. Can you send us your account info to contact@pixelpipe.com?

  • pixelbrett // November 5, 2009 at 9:43 am | Reply

Try checking your APN setup in Share Online, I think a -34 is an error for no network connection. If all else fails you can reinstall the plug-in from http://m.pixelpipe.com/nokia

  • pixelbrett // February 14, 2010 at 1:35 am | Reply

Yes, we would host the video and embed it like when using the WP Editor.

Palm handles all of the application distribution so it’s out of our hands once the app hits the catalog. You can download a version from PreCentral.net if you’re set up for “homebrew” apps. Hope that helps.

  • pixelbrett // February 23, 2010 at 1:47 am | Reply

Your issue might be related to our Pre client, we’ll give it a try and see if we can replicate the issue.

  • pixelbrett // February 23, 2010 at 2:01 am | Reply

The 2nd option of “Authorize Pixelpipe to publish status posts and media without prompting me for approval” includes video. Just approve that option & you can publish both photos & video.
